Common Questions
What grades of stainless steel pipe do you supply?
We supply a comprehensive range of austenitic and duplex stainless steel grades including 304, 304L, 316, 316L, 321, 321H, 310S and Duplex 2205. All grades are available in both welded and seamless forms, produced to ASTM A312, ASTM A213, EN 10217-7 and EN 10216-5 standards. For specialty alloys or grades not listed here, please contact our sales team — we can source most stainless grades through our partner mill network.
Welded vs seamless stainless steel pipe — which should I choose?
The choice depends on your application requirements. Welded stainless steel pipes are more cost-effective and available in a wider range of sizes — ideal for structural, architectural, general industrial and moderate-pressure applications. Seamless stainless steel pipes offer superior pressure integrity with no weld seam, making them the preferred choice for high-pressure, high-temperature and critical-service applications such as boiler systems, offshore platforms and chemical reactors. Our technical team can recommend the optimal type — get in touch with your project specifications.
What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Our standard MOQ for stainless steel pipes is 5 tons per grade and size combination. For project-based orders or specialty requirements, we offer flexible MOQ arrangements. Please contact our sales team with your requirements for a tailored quote.
Which regions do you deliver to?
We deliver door-to-door across the European Union (all member states), Middle East (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman), Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan), and USA. Delivery to other regions is available upon request. We handle export documentation, customs clearance and offer both FCL and LCL container shipping options.
What certifications do your stainless steel pipes carry?
All our stainless steel pipes are sourced from ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949 certified partner mills. Products comply with major international standards including ASTM A312, ASTM A213, ASTM A269, ASTM A270, EN 10217-7, EN 10216-5, EN 10296-2 and PED 2014/68/EU. Every shipment includes Mill Test Certificates per EN 10204 3.1, and EN 10204 3.2 is available on request. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas, DNV, Intertek or TÜV can be arranged at the buyer's request.
Can you supply custom sizes, lengths and processing?
Yes. We offer extensive customization including precision cut-to-length, beveling, threading, bending, CNC machining, drilling, polishing and coating. Non-standard outside diameters, wall thicknesses and lengths are available as made-to-order production. Submit your technical drawings or specifications and we will provide a custom quotation promptly.

About Stainless Steel Pipes
What Is Stainless Steel Pipe?
Stainless steel pipe is a hollow, cylindrical product made from steel alloys containing a minimum of 10.5% chromium, which forms a passive oxide layer on the surface providing exceptional corrosion resistance. Unlike carbon steel pipes that require external coatings for corrosion protection, stainless steel pipes and tubes maintain their integrity in aggressive environments including acidic, alkaline and chloride-bearing media. This self-healing chromium oxide layer makes stainless steel piping the material of choice across industries demanding hygiene, durability and long service life — from food-grade processing lines to offshore oil and gas installations.
The two primary categories — austenitic (300-series) and duplex grades — cover the vast majority of industrial applications. Austenitic grades like 304 and 316 offer excellent formability and weldability, while duplex stainless steels such as 2205 deliver approximately double the yield strength of standard austenitic grades along with superior stress corrosion cracking resistance.
Welded vs Seamless Stainless Steel Pipe
Welded stainless steel pipes are produced by forming flat strip or coil into a tubular shape and joining the edges using TIG/GTAW, plasma or laser welding for small-to-medium diameters. EFW (electric fusion welded) is generally selected for larger diameters and heavy-wall requirements (typically aligned with ASTM A358). Modern welding technology combined with full weld-seam normalization and non-destructive testing produces weld joints with mechanical properties matching the base metal.
Seamless stainless steel pipes are produced from a solid billet through piercing and elongation — either hot-finished or cold-drawn — resulting in a tube with no weld seam. This makes seamless pipes inherently stronger under internal pressure and preferred for applications involving high temperatures (above 400°C), cyclic loading or corrosive environments where weld-zone corrosion could be a concern.
At MetalFromTurkey, we supply both types through certified partner mills to international standards. All supplied welded stainless steel pipes conform to EN 10217-7 and ASTM A312, while our seamless range meets EN 10216-5 and ASTM A213. Explore our complete steel pipe range including ERW line pipes and helically welded line pipes.
Applicable Standards
All stainless steel pipes we supply are produced and tested in accordance with internationally recognized standards:
- ASTM A312 / ASME SA312 — Standard specification for seamless, welded and heavily cold-worked austenitic stainless steel pipes
- ASTM A213 / ASME SA213 — Seamless ferritic and austenitic alloy steel boiler, superheater and heat-exchanger tubes
- EN 10217-7 — Welded steel tubes for pressure purposes: stainless steel tubes
- EN 10216-5 — Seamless steel tubes for pressure purposes: stainless steel tubes
- EN 10305-1/2 — Steel tubes for precision applications: seamless and welded cold drawn tubes
- EN 10296-2 — Welded stainless steel tubes for mechanical and structural purposes
- ASTM A269 — Seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel tubing for general service
- ASTM A270 — Seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel sanitary tubing
- ASME BPE — Bioprocessing equipment requirements for hygienic/pharma tube systems
- DIN 2391 — Seamless precision steel tubes — technical delivery conditions
All pipes are supplied with Mill Test Certificates per EN 10204 3.1 documenting chemical composition, mechanical properties and dimensional inspection results. EN 10204 3.2 documentation is available on request.
Duplex / Super Duplex Technical Notes
For chloride-rich and sour-service projects, duplex data is often a purchase-critical requirement:
- PREN Guidance — Duplex 2205 is typically PREN ~35; Super Duplex 2507 is typically PREN ~43 for higher pitting resistance
- Sour Service — ISO 15156 / NACE MR0175 compliance can be provided subject to project temperature, hardness and environment limits
- Heat Treatment — Solution annealing and rapid quenching are controlled to maintain balanced duplex microstructure
- Sigma-Phase Risk — Prolonged exposure in the 450–900°C range is avoided to protect impact toughness and corrosion resistance
Project-specific TDS sheets for Duplex 2205 and Super Duplex 2507 are available on request.
Surface Finish, Tolerances and End Finishes
International buyers typically require a defined finishing and dimensional package:
- Surface Finish (Ra) — 2B, BA, #180 grit and electropolished finishes available; sanitary/pharma targets can be specified
- Dimensional Tolerances — OD and WT tolerances per applicable standard; tighter tolerances can be agreed per project
- End Finishes — Plain end, beveled end, threaded, grooved or flanged options
- Passivation — ASTM A380 / ASTM A967 passivation documentation available for food, pharma and high-purity applications
Share your finish class, Ra limit and end-preparation requirement to receive a compliant offer package.
Quality Control and NDT Methodology
Our QA package can be configured with ISO 10893-series methods by product category:
- ISO 10893-2 — Automated UT for seamless tubes
- ISO 10893-3 — Full-body eddy current testing for seamless tubes
- ISO 10893-5 — Magnetic particle testing where applicable for welded products
- ISO 10893-10 — Automated UT of weld seam for welded tubes
Inspection scope is aligned with purchase order and project specification; EN 10204 3.1 is standard and 3.2 is available on request.
